Techno Carnegie: Karen Jamieson Dance, New Media/Video & Lights Workshop

I'm working on this fantastic workshop for Karen Jamieson as a New Media/ Video Mentor on behalf of SFU Contemporary Arts,

There will be a performance of work in progress in July 18th, 2010 as part of the Dancing on the Edge festival.
Karen Jamieson

Techno Carnegie

In partnership with SFU School for the Contemporary Arts and Carnegie Community Centre - KJD returns to dance in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside with a project that focuses on interdisciplinary exploration of new media/video & lights integrated with dance. This project promises to be of compelling interest to many of the community dancers who have on several occasions expressed interest in working with light and projection and shadow in the development of their ideas. This workshop will have two stages of development: the first a process of learning and mentoring from a person who has a mastery of the technology, the second stage creating choreography with these new tools. Workshops will take place at SFU for technical instruction and at the Carnegie Community Centre for dance creation. This project will take the form of a series of workshops over a period of time — starting in July 2010
