WEEKENDSOUND is a sound project and an artist is invited to do a live concert.
On this evening IDOLON STUDIO is pleased to present Shang-Han Chien簡上涵(CA) + Sammy Chien簡上翔(CA) + Hun-Chun Lin林惠君(DE) + Mirae Rosner(CA) + Jesse Scott(CA) + Maria Pyatkova(RU).
Shang-Han Chien(簡上涵) & Sammy Chien(簡上翔) are inter-disciplinary artists who seek to merge cinema, visual art, sound art, graphic design, animation, new media and dance performance techniques into a new individual practice. They frequently collaborate both visually and aurally in multi-disciplinary projects range from film, dance performance, improvised audiovisual performance, live electronics, concert, theatre, video installation, art exhibition and interdisciplinary collaborative-performance. They began their interdisciplinary collaboration and new media journey with Dr. Henry Daniel (Vancouver) & Troika Ranch (NYC/Berlin) in 2008. Since then, they continue their deep interest in interdisciplinary collaborations and forge deep connections within images, sound and movements. Both of their work has appeared in various films, music, media and dance festivals. Sammy holds his B.F.A in Film Honors at School for the Contemporary Arts in Simon Fraser Unveristy. Shang-Han holds his B.D in Graphic Design at Nova Scotia College of Art & Design University (NSCADU), Canada.
Musician, Hui-Chun Lin(林惠君), Classical piano and cello education, Studied with Professor Peter Bruns at Dresden Conservatory, Postgraduate studies in improvisation with Tilo Augsten at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, Worked as solo cellist and ensemble musician, Improvisation, theatre music, contemporary music, dance, performance, classical music, world music and cello solo with live electronics, Participated in a workshop with "Yo-Yo Ma & The Silk Road, Ensemble" at Carnegie Hall in New York 09/2006, also participated the workshop "Dave Douglas: Composition and Improvisation in New York 02/2010", Leipziger Jazztage 2007 (jazz festival) with "Beat Freisens Spelunkenorchester" Lectureship for improvisation at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig 2006-2008, Conducted an improvisation class at a middle school in Tainan/Taiwan 2008/09, World music series "Passagen" of the Bayerischer Rundfunk with Mahoott 01/2010 ans also Free Improvisation Concert at Leipjazzig Festival 03/2010, Contemporary Music, Concert at Resonanzen Festival Leipzig 04/2010 and "Codes" Festival of Traditional and Avant-garde Music in Lublin (Poland) 05/2010, "Artist in Residence" in Cit des Arts Paris 07/2010-01/2011.
Jesse Scott is a new media artist, producer, coder, designer, visualist, curator, writer, and blogger. Under various aliases and operating within several artist collectives, he produces work for live performance, for site-specific actions, for listening, for viewing, for reading… his work has spanned the domains of a/v performance, locative media, telematics, improvisational practice, urban projection, installation design, public workshops, and the written word.
Mirae Rosner's her dance training in Novosibirsk. She moved from Russia to work at the Max Plank Institute in Göttingen in the field of Molecular and Genetic Biology. Here, in the absence of any training possibilities she taught classes in ballet and modern. She moved to Berlin a year and a half ago to pursue artistic projects, and complements performing and creating films with research in the field of Social Psychology.
