Come out for a night of grimy beats and dancing while you show your love and support for the creative commons that our local community has built this past year at W2 Storyeum.

Saturday night will be a fundraiser towards W2 Community Media Arts Society and an active night of sounds and visuals. Our eclectic lineup of... Dj’s and Vj’s present an edgy mix of ambient, experimental and some grinding live electronics, dubstep, and breaky techno sounds.

Joining the talent roster for the evening are several Vancouver DJs: MRed (Michael Red) and CLMLKA (Calamalka) of Lighta! Sound, Vancouver's dubstep dance pushers; DJ Niña Mendoza with a heavy future funk set, classic electro and disco breaks; Prison Garde (formerly known as Megasoid / Sixtoo) with the best West Coast bass around; and visuals by Sammy Chien.

Adam Basanta & Sammy Chien (Montreal/Vancouver)
Exploring the field of interactive audiovisual performance, Basanta and Chien create large-scale improvised structures that unfold simultaneously in both the auditory and visual domains. Fragments of familiar sounds and images peer out from imposing synthesized textures, while manipulated live objects recede into un-processed soundscapes in an effort to investigate the material's evocative possibilities within a multi-modal, digital context. Each performance takes on its own character, depending on the materials brought to the table by each artist.

Installation "ShadowBox" in Surge Festival & New Form Festival 10

The Video/ New Media installation created by Sammy Chien and Krista Lomax called "ShadowBox", as part of the StoryBox Project in Surge Festival & New Form Festival 10. You can see this video installation outside of Cordova st. outside of W2 and right across from SFU Woodward's when the day gets darker.

We welcome you to sail this ship of fools and be enchanted by the SWEETest ANOMALY who returns to Vancity after a long hiatus (playing wicked sets along the west coast no less), followed by the spacecraft rhythms of DEANO WOMPenhauser who rocked our bottoms at Raise the Red Lantern.
